Use this guide to measure window seats, individual sofa sections, standard couches, loveseats, oversized sofas and sectional furniture before ordering.
Measure Before Ordering
Measure the Furniture — Not Just the Number of Seats
“2-seat,” “3-seat” and “4-seat” sofa names are useful references, but furniture dimensions differ significantly between brands. Measuring the actual furniture gives you a much better starting point.

Measure the Width
Measure from one side of the exact area you want the textile to cover to the other.

Measure the Depth
For seat mats, measure from the front edge of the seat toward the backrest.

Include the Desired Drape
For one-piece sofa throws, add extra length if you want fabric to hang over the front, sides or back.

Measure Sectionals Separately
Measure each standard seat, corner section and chaise independently instead of measuring the entire L-shaped sofa as one rectangle.

For non-slip sofa mats, measure the actual flat seating surface. Excessive overhang may reduce the neat fitted appearance.
L-Shaped & Modular Sofas
How to Size a Sectional Sofa
Sectional furniture is best treated as several separate furniture areas rather than one large sofa.
Measure each seat, chaise and corner section separately, then select the closest matching Aurenhouse size for each area.
Standard Seat
Measure width × depth. Medium or Large individual mats are commonly used depending on seat dimensions.
Wide Seat
Use the 35 × 35 in or 35 × 47 in options where a standard seat is wider or deeper.
Chaise
Measure the full usable chaise surface. A longer individual mat or sectional-size piece may be more appropriate.
Corner Section
Measure the flat area independently. For Product 03, the 71 × 71 in sectional piece provides flexible coverage.
Backrest
If you also want backrest coverage, measure each back panel separately and select an individual mat size that provides the desired coverage.
Multiple Pieces
It is normal for a modular sofa to require several different sizes. The pieces do not all need to be identical.
